Summary Description: The Logistics Manager is responsible for

  • Provide leadership in the daily safe operation of the Quinnesec warehouse, Logistics team members, and condition of carrier equipment.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership of the following logistics-related functions:
  • Machine / rewinder planning & scheduling
  • Pulp machine scheduling
  • Inventory control & management (onsite, offsite)
  • Management of Quinnesec warehouse
  • Inventory aging guidance & instruction
  • Mill warehouse organization
  • Shipment planning & load tendering
  • Rail switching, demurrage
  • Truck spotting
  • Supplier (i.e., carrier & offsite warehouse) relationships / interface / performance evaluations
  • Transportation & freight
  • Corporate Supply Chain interface – Sales, Planning, Customer Service, Load Center
  • Develop and manage department budget for traffic & warehousing.
  • Management of offsite facility Service PO’s.
  • Performance Management – Coach & develop direct reports to build a strong cohesive team
  • Metric reporting
  • Data analysis for business processes
  • Ensure & facilitate best practices implemented in Logistics functions at mill
  • Manufacturing Execution System governance (Optivision, SAP, Mercury Gate)
  • Implementation of corporate projects, as requested. (Atlas, offsite converting, customer service programs, etc.)

Qualifications

Required Experience and Education:

  • Minimum 5 Years Logistics / PS&D experience

  • Strong communications, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as demonstrated abilities to champion change and influence others at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to give encouragement, guidance, and direction to improve safety performance.
  • Self-starter able to work effectively with minimal direct supervision.
  • Maintain knowledge of corporate, state, and federal safety rules and regulations.
  • Physical stamina and agility to conduct on-site inspections of the facility and equipment
