Project Atlas

Project Atlas is Billerud’s largest transformation initiative to date. Its goal is to create a unified, modern business platform that makes it easier to work with – and within – Billerud. 

Through Atlas, we are implementing a new business solution based on SAP technology, harmonizing data, systems, and processes across all sites. This shift replaces fragmented legacy systems with a streamlined platform that supports efficient, data-driven, and sustainable collaboration.

What Atlas means for you as a supplier:

  • Digital collaboration via SAP Business Network
    Suppliers will gradually be onboarded to SAP Business Network – our new platform for order handling, invoicing, and communication.

  • SAP Ariba implementation
    SAP Ariba will be introduced during the Atlas program to support strategic sourcing, contract management, and procurement processes.

  • Simplified and standardized processes
    Working with Billerud will become easier and more predictable, thanks to harmonized requirements, clearer documentation, and consistent routines across all sites.

  • Faster and more reliable transactions
    Improved data quality and automation will help reduce errors, shorten response times, and ensure smoother order and payment handling.

  • Stronger collaboration
    Atlas enables better visibility and alignment between Billerud and its suppliers, supporting long-term partnerships built on transparency and trust.

Rollout timeline

The initial go-live at our Gävle mill took place in November 2025. Following this milestone, other European mills will be onboarded in a phased rollout through 2027. Implementation at North American sites will follow thereafter.
