Billerud is regularly assessed by ESG rating agencies and sustainability data providers. We strive to provide all stakeholders with a solid basis for their evaluation of our business.

CDP
We report to CDP Climate, Water Security and Forests annually. CDP assesses companies on the comprehensiveness of their disclosures, awareness, management of environmental risks and environmental leadership. Billerud received the grades A on Climate Change, B on Water Security and B on Forest in CDP’s evaluation 2024. Our ranking is a testament to our systematic and long-standing sustainability work.

EcoVadis
The EcoVadis assessment is an evaluation of how well a company has integrated the principles of sustainability into their business and management system. In 2024, Billerud received the EcoVadis gold medal, placing us among the top 5% of evaluated companies.

The UN Global Compact
We support the ten principles of the Global Compact by introducing them in our strategies and our corporate culture. We annually reaffirm our compliance and commitment of the principles through a ‘Communication on Progress’ report, which highlights progress in the work with the UN Global Compact and its principles.

Sustainalytics
We are regularly assessed by the ESG rating provider Sustainalytics on our ESG risk exposure and ESG risk management. In January 2025, we received an ESG Risk Rating of 16.6 and was assessed by Sustainalytics to be at low risk of experiencing material financial impacts from ESG factors.

MSCI ESG Rating
For the fourth year in a row, we are rated as a ‘Leader’ company (rating AA) within the MSCI ESG Rating (2025), which measures a company’s management of financially relevant ESG risks and opportunities using a rules-based methodology to identify industry leaders and laggards according to their exposure to ESG risks and how well they manage those risks relative to peers.

ISS ESG
We are regularly assessed by the ESG rating provider ISS ESG, receiving the rating B- and Prime status, which is granted to companies exceeding the ESG performance of their sector. ISS ESG rates how well companies integrate ESG risks into their corporate strategy and operations to enable investors to develop responsible investing policies and practices.
