Summary Description:
Provide work scheduling and job testing & training scheduling support for assigned areas of Mill Production, including Maintenance dept. Coordinate all job moves and vacancy coverage including retirements, promotions, bids, curtailments, and vacations in assigned area of responsibility. Responsibilities and tasks include scheduling, vacancy filling, employee relations, and basic, key Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) language comprehension.
Qualifications
Key Accountabilities:
- Schedule assigned areas of Mill Production and Maintenance, and inform workforce in a timely manner, as prescribed by CBA.
- Coordinate Hourly Mill and Department Bid processes for assigned areas.
- Coordinate Vacation scheduling, Extra Work procedure, Curtailments (as needed), Training, and Testing for assigned areas.
- Make appropriate, timely phone calls and communication with Mill team members.
- Post weekly schedules for areas of responsibility, and update Company scheduling system.
- Coordinate additional manpower requests from departments.
- Provide backup and coverage for Scheduling team.
- Communicate proactively with Business Unit Managers and their teams to continually inform of potential mill staffing issues.
- Advise HR Manager on history of events that lead to grievances. Make recommendations based on involvement with events.
Personal qualities
Required Experience and Education:
Minimum Required Experience and Education:
- Associate’s degree and or 2+ years of scheduling experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably with a unionized workforce.
Travel: Negotiable

- Great verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent listener.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word.
- Ability and desire to learn and use new software, i.e. Dayforce.
- Excellent attendance.
- Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to share bad news quickly and professionally.
