Inauguration of the new recovery boiler in Frövi
In September 2023, Frövi mills new recovery boiler - SP4 - was inaugurated. Hard work is behind the construction of the facility that is now in place and that meets both environmental and quality requirements. But not only that, it was also carried out on time and within budget.
During the opening, speeches were delivered by acting CEO, Ivar Vatne, and the Mill manager, Richard Morén. Also in attendence were the group management team, members of Billerud's board, members of the Swedish parliament, local politicians, and other industry stakeholders, as well as representatives from the region's business community and press/media. Everyone joined in on the celebration. Of course, our external guests also got to visit Sweden's most modern control room – the heart of the operations center.
"In challenging times, we have managed to deliver and build for the future - thanks to close cooperation, transparency and collaboration with everyone involved. The mill in Frövi is part of a larger entirety and now our journey begins, by showing that we manage in the best way the effect of the trust we have been given," said Richard Morén, Mill director, Frövi.
The modern technology of the new building will enable:

- An increased pulp production.
