We are looking for an Application Specialist to join our local Mill Applications team at the Gävle Mill. In this role, you will act as a key technical specialist within your maintenance area, supporting and developing business-critical applications while working closely with business stakeholders, suppliers, and IT colleagues.
About the role
As an Application Specialist, you will be responsible for the technical support, maintenance, and continuous development of applications and systems within your assigned maintenance area. You will play an important role in ensuring stable operations, delivering improvements, and supporting business needs through effective and sustainable IT solutions.
The role combines technical expertise with stakeholder collaboration and includes activities such as troubleshooting, requirements management, testing, documentation, solution design, and quality assurance. You will work closely with both internal and external resources and contribute to the ongoing development of applications, processes, and ways of working.
Your main tasks will be:
· Develop and maintain business-critical applications and IT solutions within your maintenance area.
· Contribute to new functionality, enhancements, and continuous improvements to existing systems and processes.
· Act as a technical specialist in troubleshooting, testing, technical documentation, and quality assurance.
· Support planning, estimation, and execution of activities to ensure successful deliveries.
· Drive governance-related activities and contribute to the development of common IT processes and standards.
· Support incident management, problem resolution, and preventive activities to improve system stability and performance.
· Contribute to a collaborative Global IT mindset and support cross-functional initiatives across maintenance areas.
You will be located at our production unit in Gävle and work together with an ambitious team and report to IT Manager Mill Applications. We value sustainability and offer flexible working opportunities.
The role includes occasional travel and participation in on-call activities may be required.

Qualifications
· University degree in Information Technology or equivalent education and experience.
· Experience working with application management, application support, or technical system maintenance.
· Good understanding of business applications and system landscapes within a maintenance or support environment.
· Basic understanding of governance processes, integrations, and technical platforms.
· Knowledge of Agile ways of working, Microsoft development platforms, and Azure DevOps.
· Experience from manufacturing, process industries, or production-supporting IT environments is considered an advantage.
· Good documentation skills and experience producing technical documentation.
· Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken
