Job description

Duties of the Job -

Perform maintenance on the dam structures and Tainter gates

Maintain and rebuild hydroelectric generation machinery and associated auxiliary equipment

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems

Weld, solder, cut, and heat as required

Maintain housekeeping standards throughout CWPCo owned facilities

Performs all other duties as assigned by supervision

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

On‑The‑Job Requirements -

Be able to work independently, be able to prioritize work, and be a self-starter.

Work in confined places.

Do a considerable amount of bending, stooping, reaching, turning and twisting.

Climb and work in high places.

Work with hazardous materials.

Work in extreme temperatures.

Follow all safety policies and requirements.

Operate welding/heating/cutting tools and equipment.

Read blueprints and schematic diagrams.

Be able to work overtime, Sundays, and holidays as required.

Respond to call ins as requested.

Must work in substations with qualified personnel.

Comply with company respirator policy.

Be able to effectively communicate and work in a team environment.

Proficient in the use of computerized equipment and willingness to utilize CMMS programs.

 

Personal qualities

Qualifications -

Have a completed State Indentured Journeyman card or equivalent.

Be able to lift 50‑100 lbs. regularly.

Have a valid Wisconsin driver's license and be able to drive.

Possess ambulatory capabilities to move freely about the sites in carrying out responsibilities.

Preference will be given to candidate with applicable experience in the maintenance of dam structures, dam auxiliaries and hydro generating units.

           Paid $250.00 safety boot/shoe allowance yearly.
