Are you an experienced Release Manager with a passion for governance, coordination, and driving successful SAP deliveries in complex global environments? A unique opportunity to shape and develop Billerud’s future global SAP landscape in a true greenfield transformation.
As part of Billerud's ongoing SAP transformation journey, we are looking for a Global IT SAP Release Manager to lead and coordinate releases across our SAP landscape and connected applications. This is a key role where you will ensure that changes are delivered in a structured, secure, and efficient way while minimizing business disruption and supporting long-term operational stability.
About the role
As Global IT SAP Release Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and governing releases across Billerud's SAP ecosystem, including SAP S/4HANA and connected platforms such as SAP BTP, Ariba, and integrated third-party applications.
You will work closely with internal teams, SAP RISE operations, external application management partners, and business stakeholders to ensure successful release planning and execution.
The role combines release governance, stakeholder management, process improvement, and operational coordination in a global environment.
Your main tasks will be:
· Coordinate release planning and execution across SAP and integrated business applications.
· Manage release schedules, dependencies, and change windows to ensure stable and predictable deliveries.
· Act as the primary contact for release coordination with SAP RISE operations and external AMS providers.
· Lead release governance activities, including CAB participation, release approvals, cutover planning, go-live activities, and post-go-live follow-up.
· Collaborate with development, testing, operations, and business teams to secure release readiness and operational stability.
· Drive continuous improvements within release management, including automation, DevOps practices, and CI/CD adoption.
· Maintain release documentation, reporting, and communication to stakeholders across the organization.
You report to: Manager Global SAP Application.
While the preferred location for this role is Solna, the position can also be based in one of our mills in Sweden. Frequent travel to our Solna office is an essential part of the role.
Qualifications
University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
· At least 10 years of experience in Release Management, IT Project Management, SAP Operations, or related areas.
· Several years of experience managing releases in SAP environments, preferably within SAP S/4HANA landscapes.
· Experience working with SOLMAN and/or SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Transport Management, and ITIL-based processes.
· Experience collaborating with SAP RISE operations and external Application Management Service providers.
· Good understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and agile delivery methodologies.
· ITIL certification is highly beneficial.
· SAP certifications are considered an advantage.
· Fluency in English, both written and spoken
