Targeting plastic waste in our oceans

Beyond Plastic Med, a two-day conference in Monaco earlier this spring, raised important questions concerning  plastic waste in our oceans. Non-profit organisations such as Tara Expeditions presented scientific evidence showing the need to act now.

The hope is to urge big businesses to come up with eco-friendly alternative solutions. Here we have summarised the highlights from the conference, headed by the Prince Albert II Foundation and sponsored by, among others, BillerudKorsnäs in partnership with Tara expeditions.

The question remains: What legacy do we want to leave behind?

Beyond Plastic Med gathered people from different corners of the world to discuss the issue of plastic waste in our oceans.

Part of the work of the non-profit environmental organisation Surfrider Foundation is to educate our children.

The final workshop, with Henrik Essén from BillerudKorsnäs, focused on innovation and eco-friendly solutions.

The presence of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II impressed media and increased press coverage.
