We are now looking for a Sustainability Manager driving commercial excellence in sustainability and who will create the best in class sustainability customer support.

Sustainability & Public Affairs is responsible for proactively driving and coordinating Billerud’ s sustainability efforts, which constitute a central part of the company's strategy and business. The team conducts environmental analyses within the sustainability field and works both communicatively and proactively with our surroundings to influence policy and regulatory development, enabling us to address global sustainability challenges.

About the position
Your focus as a Sustainability Manager will be to develop efficient tools for sustainability, trainings for the whole organization in general and the commercial department in specific. Sustainability is the core of Billerud´s business and should be in the DNA for everyone working for Billerud. You will work with other teams and functions cross the company and the regions. You will also be part of driving initiatives to improve Billerud´ s overall sustainability performance.


Your main tasks will be:

  • Responsible for structuring and organizing the work to support our commercial departments in customer relations.
  • Responsible for developing adequate tools for Billeruds commercial departments, lead workshops conduct trainings and create a sustainability information platform.
  • Assess the company's and its stakeholders' needs for information within the sustainability field and support the organization with knowledge, materials, and problem-solving related to sustainability.
  • Monitor market trends impacting sustainability.
  • Support sustainability reporting in the areas where your responsibilities are affected.
  • Support the implementation of our new sustainability platform & act as a system support for sustainability data.
  • Develop a sustainability communication plan and set goals in your area.
  • Participate in the development of Billerud's strategic efforts for a sustainable future.

 

The position reports to EVP (Executive Vice President) Sustainability & Public Affairs, Ulrika Wedberg. The position is based at our head office in Solna.

Qualifications

To succeed in this position, we believe you have:

  • An academic background in sustainability, economics, law, engineering, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience, ideally with expertise in developing training initiatives on sustainability offers and data for commercial use.
  • Strong experience in project leading with proven ability to structure and organize effectively to ensuring successful follow-ups.
  • Knowledge of the paper and pulp industry.
  • Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English, as well as good proficiency in Swedish.
  • Additional qualifications for the role include knowledge and experience in working with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPD).
