Service Specialist IT (Quinnesec, MI)

Job description

The Mill IT Specialist delivers IT solutions to infrastructure support in a large manufacturing environment with remote offices and manufacturing sites containing highly integrated manufacturing systems. including systems/network administration, business analysis, and requirements gathering, system configuration, intermediate break/fix, analysis & troubleshooting, security administration, systems/network monitoring and documentation.


 

Qualifications

Key Accountabilities:

  • Under general supervision perform analytical, technical, & administrative work to aid in the on-going support of the infrastructure environment, including installing, maintaining, supporting, and administering critical business and manufacturing systems/networks and telecommunications
  • Troubleshoot application issues and create innovative solutions. Using standard problem management tools and processes, document problem resolution at each key step.
  • Provide subject matter expertise as it relates to Billerud’s business and associated systems
  • Assists users; troubleshoots issues; communicates & trains as necessary.
  • Play a role on infrastructure teams
  • Provide on-site or remote access diagnoses & resolution of computer hardware and software problems
  • Create ad-hoc reports, data mining, and general support with application issues
  • Participates in a project environment
  • Coordinate with peers, both locally & across business locations and may direct others during short projects
  • Participate in field trials, including involvement with suppliers
  • Participate in Lean Six sigma projects – be the voice of IT
  • Play a role on manufacturing/business teams, establishing and maintaining a partnership to understand business goals and issues.
  • Responsible for leading small to medium sized mfg/business/information technology initiatives
  • Ensure results are delivered on-time, within budget
  • Meet overall business requirement

Personal qualities

Minimum Experience & Education:

  • AS/BS/BA in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of Information Technology experience preferred but not required.
  • Preferred Experience & Education
  • BS in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment


Minimum Required Skills:

  • Strong MS Windows, MS Servers and MS Office skills.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently & an eagerness to learn new applications and technologies.
  • Solid teamwork, organizational, & communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with diverse groups of people from across the mill & Billerud to build constructive networks/relationships & develop solutions to manufacturing business needs.
  • Versatile problem solving & analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into attainable IT solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple time sensitive, complex projects & issues

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience creating & deploying MECM/SCCM software packages
  • Experience managing applications in a Citrix Environment
