The goal of Billerud’s co-op program is to cultivate the development of potential future resources for our organization while providing high-quality support to organization.   Co-op/Intern assignments are structured to provide candidates with opportunities to grow and develop in their chosen discipline as well as educate them on various career paths within the organization. Although there is no guarantee of future employment, our goal is to have our Co-ops/Interns fully capable of stepping into a full-time position within our organization by the end of the program.

 

This is a full-time paid co-op position within our Business Intelligence team for a duration of 7-8 months.  The co-op will interact with the other members of the BI and Applications team as well as business users to design, develop, configure, enhance, and support both new and existing reporting platforms, databases, and toolsets.  The systems utilized may include PowerBI, Cognos, SSRS, Informatica, SQL Server and others.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support business users in the use of Verso’s BI and Analytics platforms
  • Develop and enhance both new and existing reports and data structures
  • Migration/conversion of existing reports, and/or data interfaces
  • Deliver BI related projects as assigned
  • Development of data architectural maps and other procedural documentation
  • Research new technologies to solve business problems
  • Routine progress reports to IT leadership
  • Participate in IT cross-functional or project teams as needed
  • Complete university requirements for co-op program

 

 

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Currently enrolled in 4-year IT related degree (Business Intelligence, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer, Engineering, Data Analytics, or equivalent)
  • Must have completed Sophomore year
  • Experience working on a team
  • Experience delivering projects

Required Experience:

  • Skilled at using Microsoft Windows and Office Suite
  • Understanding of database design and architecture
  • Commitment to working safely
  • Strong communication skills and ability to read, write, understand, and follow technical documentation
  • Commitment to quality customer support
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to relate to all levels of the Billerud organization
  • Must demonstrate initiative and be self-motivated
    Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills:

  • SQL Server Database technology experience
  • SQL Server Reporting Services, Cognos Report Development, Power BI
  • Experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment
  • Data analysis and statistics

Personal qualities

Travel:

Minimal travel will be required. This position will be based out of our Miamisburg, OH headquarters office.  The applicant is expected to work from on-site at the office during the co-op position.
