We are now looking for a Sustainability Manager with specific reporting responsibilities to the Corporate Sustainability & Public Affairs function.

You will be part of the corporate Sustainability and Public Affair team. The function’s overall responsibility is to drive Billerud's sustainability efforts forward by ensuring that the company achieves its sustainability goals, engages in strategic work, conducts sustainability reporting, and monitors and influences policy and regulatory developments. The team conducts trend analyses in the sustainability field and works proactively and communicatively with internal and external stakeholders to address global sustainability challenges.

About the position
You will work broadly within the responsibilities of the function with a specific focus on group-wide reporting and sustainability monitoring. We work fully integrated in the group, and therefore supporting the organization and each other with knowledge, questions, and problem-solving is also part of the role.

Tasks for the position include, among others:

  • Responsible for coordinating and driving the company's sustainability reporting and other group-wide sustainability related reporting.
  • Implement and drive the reporting of EU’s new directive CSRD for the group, together with the team.
  • Streamline monitoring, reporting, and data management related to sustainability reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and provide them with information, knowledge, and problem-solving related to sustainability.
  • Participate in the development of Billerud's strategic sustainability work.
  • Evaluate external events and trends regarding sustainability.

The position reports to Billerud's Sustainability Director and is a full-time permanent position. The position is located at our headquarters in Solna, or alternatively at one of our mills (Gävle, Skärblacka, Frövi, Karlsborg, Gruvön).

At Billerud, we put Safety First. Together we take great pride in our responsibility to contribute to a safe work environment. Please read more about our Safety First initiative here.

Qualifications

You should have an academic degree in a field relevant to the position, preferably in sustainability, economics, or engineering. You should have a good understanding of international standards for sustainability reporting and experience in setting, monitoring, and reporting sustainability KPIs.

Previous experience in coordinating sustainability reporting and data collection according to GRI is merit, but it is particularly important to have an interest in the development of sustainability reporting as this is an area that is rapidly evolving with many new frameworks and higher requirements.

You have a big interest and drive for sustainability, are used to give presentations and enjoy having many different contact points. Finally, you have very good skills in Swedish and English.

Personal qualities

To succeed in this position, you have a personal drive with associated initiative. Given the presence of analytical tasks, you should have the ability to systematically search for and process information. You need to be goal-oriented and able to work independently with contacts within different parts of the company. You should have an understanding of communication as a tool for change and be able to communicate in a trustworthy manner.
