Vice President Business Area Paper

We are now looking for a Vice President Business Area Paper, who will lead the strategic direction and overall performance of the business area. In this role, you will drive profitable growth, strengthen our market position, and ensure alignment with Billerud’s overall strategy, while leading a high-performing international organization. The role encompasses overall responsibility for Sales, Customer Service, Sales Excellence, and Marketing within the business area.
Key responsibilities
- Define and steer the strategic direction for Business Area Paper, ensuring alignment with Billerud’s overall strategy and long-term objectives
- Drive margin improvement and sustainable profitability through strong commercial and operational focus
- Lead, develop, and inspire a team of Directors, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and commercial excellence
- Own and oversee the development and execution of the business area strategy, including performance monitoring and follow-up
- Actively contribute as a key member of the European Management Team, shaping strategic direction and cross-functional priorities
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across Billerud Europe to capture synergies and optimize overall company performance
- Hold overall responsibility for the business area’s financial performance, including fixed cost budget and financial discipline
- Provide strategic market insights to support investment decisions, including M&A opportunities and major projects
- Represent Billerud externally in industry forums, strengthening our brand and market influence
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree in business, engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- Extensive experience from the global paper industry, including senior leadership roles within B2B environments
- Strong commercial acumen with deep understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscapes
- Experienced in leading international, cross-functional teams and building high-performing organizations
- Proven capability to accelerate performance and instill a strong performance culture, aligning teams around ambitious targets and disciplined execution.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both internally and externally
